'The Foolhardy Wolf' was a very fun and cute story. I am really loving these animal-related retellings for children! I loved the way the wolf felt he had no chance against the lion so he just gave up and gave himself to him. I would change the confidence of the wolf so he felt more brave in any aspect. I might completely change the location and everything of the wolf. Putting him in a difficult and scary situation, but he has all the confidence of the world to defeat whatever is after him. Then I could flashback to this tale of him and the lion to show how scared he once was.
In Part B, I also found 'The Elephant and the Dog' to be a good story to do a retelling over. In this original, the dog is bought by someone and taken away from the elephant. The elephant was sad and acting different after the dog was taken away. I loved the relationship between these two animals because it does not give their perspective, it just tells of the humans view of them. I would probably want to personify the animals in this story and make them and the human have the ability to communicate with each other. Or perhaps I would want the animals roles to switch and the elephant be taken away..? I think that may be too similar, but this is another story I would really love to do a future retelling of!
