I really enjoyed reading 'The Kauravas' Hatred Grows' from part B of the Dharma version of Mahabharata. I would change this story in my retelling, by making it 'The Kauravas' Love Grows,' in order to completely change the meaning of the story. This would give me a chance to analyze all of the things the Kauravas' are becoming angry about and turn them on their head in my retelling. I think this would be an interesting thing to do because the rage is so present in the original story. Being able to see the opposite would be an interesting twist on this story.
I was also interested in the story called 'Ghaṭotkaca Born and Baka Slain.' Just from the title you can tell that a lot is going to happen in this episode. This title and the story brings up the idea of life and death, as one is born and another dies. I think this story could be paralleled to another story that focuses on this idea of life and death. Also, since it is almost Halloween, I feel as if this could be tied together with a 'Day of the Dead' type of feel. I feel the characters and their development in this story would allow me to put that all together!
