In the Announcement from Wednesday, September 6th I found the lecture that occurred in the Union that day to be very interesting and it is something that I would have had no idea that it happened if it was not for that announcement. One of the professor here at OU, Dr. David Levy, gave a lecture on "Mark Twain and the Jews." I wish I would had attended this event because I am sure it would have been interesting, especially since it was a speaker who is an actual professor here. I will be sure to check the announcements more often so I do not miss out on speakers!

I know what you mean about missing things, Kayleigh: lots of times I'll read about an event in the Daily AFTER it has taken place for example. I try hard to keep track of things, but there is so much going on. I wish all the events would put something online so that we could catch up afterwards if we can't go to the event; that's another good reason to have a blog: people can catch up with things anytime, not just "in the moment" ...
