For this weeks Ramayana I wanted a completely new perspective on the story after reading the Public Domain version. I found just that when I watched the animated video version of the Ramayana. It was so fun to see the characters have their different personalities that I had learned from physically reading the story before hand.
Although I have watched the entire film, I will only be discussing Part A in this post, and will be finishing up the rest of the movie in my post about Part B. In Part A you basically received the same parts that you got from the Public Domain version of the Ramayana. There were so often parts in the public domain version that were so heavily based on only dialogue, that I felt as if I was lacking getting the overall picture of the story. This animated movie version of the story fixed that problem. During Part A there is a lot of confusion about the nature of Rama and Sita's relationship. I did not get as much tension in the public domain version as I did from the animated version. For example, where Sita gets rejected by Rama and then wants a funeral pyre, I found a lot of confusion in this area.
