The beginning of Part D of the Public Domain version of Ramayana starts out action packed. Rama is performing sacrifices, causing storms, and shooting arrows. This version gives absolutely no insight on what Rama is feeling right now. I think this story could use Rama's thoughts and perspective. Obviously you can tell he is angry from his actions, but having a first person account from Rama would be something interesting I would like to do in my rewriting of this. In the Pushpaka section, the reading notes discuss how it seems like this story is "written in reverse." Rama is explaining to Sita the events of the past fourteen years in reverse. However, in my rewrite I would like to tell it from the perspective of Sita instead of Rama. Sita would view all of these events completely differently from the way Rama does.
