When looking beginning to look at Part C of the Public Domain Ramayana, a particular section caught my eye. It was shocking because it deals with the death of Vali, and also because of the way he was killed. Apparently the bloody fight that killed Vali is controversial because of the dishonor connected to this way of dying. In my version of the story I would maybe want to alter this death to make it so it is not done in a dishonorable way to keep the idea that people had of Rama and Sugriva. Another section that I found interesting was about 'The Armies' which occurred after the rain season. This foreshadows a new beginning with the rain clearing up. However this is nearly the opposite of what actually occurs next, as Sugriva plans on attacking Sita with armies of vicious animals. I would alter this by making the end of the raining season to create a new and more positive change to the story. I would use lots of imagery to emphasize this idea of new beginnings.
