This is an idea that I have heard before many times, but I have never read it in an academic fashion. However, the points that this article make perfect sense as to why this might be true. When people do not get enough sleep, they will have trouble when they try to study. People will not be as focused or motivated, as they are probably just thinking about how much they rather be asleep. This is something I should definitely attempt to do. So often I find myself staying up until 2am to study when I already have to be up at 8am to study more or take an exam. My issue is not that a procrastinate, but I get test anxiety which makes me feel like I have to cram in this way. Seeing this idea in an academic form, with actual data has made me believe in this idea much more.
