For the Growth Mindset extra credit assignment I completed this week I read 'The Secret to Raising Smart Kids' to learn more about goal setting. The biggest thing I took away from this article was that the growth mindset and learning are a process, not something that can happen over night. Sure, you can add a new task to improve your growth mindset everyday, but this is not some huge overnight change. This is also something that is never complete. You never stop learning, and you should never be complacent with what you know. It is also important to praise people for their persistence. This is especially important for children because they will learn the importance of this trait. This reinforces the need to understand learning as a process.
