The first article I read was "6 Bad Mental Habits That Sabotage Your Success." This is something I have recently struggled with in my academic and personal life. Through thinking negatively, I have rid myself of success and opportunities that were easily in my reach, but I just did not realize that. This article was very helpful in pointing out the effects of thinking negatively. In terms of our upcoming assignments dealing with feedback, this article shows the importance of giving positive feedback not only to our peers, but also ourselves.
The second article that I read was "Overcoming the Fear of Feedback." This article focused on the ways people can change their mindset in order to feel more comfortable with feedback. People must see this as a learning opportunity, and not just one of your peers trying to put you down. Something that will relate closely to the class is the article explaining how having a habit of receiving feedback can help overcome this fear. In our class, we will be giving and receiving feedback to our peers multiple times. This will help those that fear feedback so that perhaps by the end of the class they no longer fear it, and when they have other classes that require feedback they will not fear it at all.
